Alex is a replacement for Sebastian's crush, Eddie. He seems totally smitten with Sebastian, but really it's all an act. He's only using him for money. When Eddie is back in town and moves into Sebastian's place, the first thing he says to Alex is, "Leave Sebastian for me."
